OFFICIAL: Monaco Suspend Thierry Henry From Management Duties

Thierry Henry has been suspended by Monaco after just three months in charge. Mirror Sport exclusively revealed this week that the Frenchman was facing the axe after a dismal run of form. The Ligue 1 club have confirmed they have suspended the former Arsenal striker pending a final decision on his future.

Monaco haven’t won a home game under the Frenchman and sit 19th in the Ligue 1 table. Henry was appointed Monaco boss on a three-year deal back in October but has struggled with the French club losing a host of their top players in recent years.

Henry’s last game in charge was the French Cup defeat to Metz earlier this week. Reports surfaced earlier today claiming the former Arsenal striker would be sacked by Monaco and replaced by his predecessor in the Monaco dugout, Leonardo Jardim.

While he has not officially been sacked, this announcement is a strong indication that his formal dismissal is imminent. The club announced that Franck Passi will take first team training this Friday. Since taking over at Monaco in his first managerial job, Henry has failed to get them out of the relegation zone, with just four wins from 20 matches in all competitions.
