OFFICIAL: Chelsea Sign Gonzalo Higuain From Juventus

Chelsea have announced the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus.

The Blues completed the loan signing of Gonzalo Higuain after reaching an agreement with Juventus , the club have confirmed.
The 31-year-old will be with Chelsea until the summer and the deal will be automatically extended for a further 12 months if he meets various targets set for him by the Blues.
He flew into London from Milan early on Wednesday morning before undergoing a medical and signing a contract, but Chelsea failed to register his signing in time for the striker to be eligible to play against Tottenham on Thursday night.
The Argentinian struggled on loan at AC Milan in the first half of the season, managing only six league goals, and will be hoping to return to form at Stamford Bridge.

‘When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself I had to take it,’ Higuain told Chelsea’s official website.
‘It’s a team I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in.
‘I now hope I can give back that trust Chelsea have shown me out on the pitch. I can’t wait to start and I hope to adapt as soon as possible.’

Maurizio Sarri, who worked with Higuain at Napoli, has been on the hunt for a new striker with Alvaro Morata still failing to live up to his £60million price tag, netting only five times in the Premier League this term.

Higuain made a substitute appearance in Milan’s Italian Super Cup defeat to Juventus last Wednesday
